Today was yoga time at school and Max tried to follow all the magic tricks that the teacher performed. He ended up doing a lot of squats. Everybody was very impressed. By his smile ; )
There was something else... but I forgot.... Hopefully, I will remember once I download the pictures.

Ok: I am actually taking pictures almost every day but I have not had a chance to post them yet. There are a couple of videos. Am I not really behind on those. One of these days when I catch a break I will organize it all nicely. I really want to.
Chris started a new job today. We have to manage our time even better now. Max sleeps ok from 7-12 and then he is up every hour. At 5am it is really hard to keep him down. I have been without sleep forever now : ) And I think it is the greatest luxury on the planet Earth ; ) Otherwise, Max is all smiles (that is when he is not rubbing his eyes; begging to sleep...). It is a lot of fun to play and do things with him. He understands almost everything now and likes to practice and explore new things all the time. He scribbles ; ) and can recognize the animals and all in his books. He likes to point them out to me. He tries to read the text, too. Today's first is that he successfully used his shovel to scoop sand into a bucket. He can do the same in the bath tub with the ladle. So much is happening every day... I don't want to jinx it.
I love Max so much. He is a cheer in a strangers' world. He is one of the friendliest and smiley kids I have known! Today was the first time Max actually fed himself a meal with a spoon on his own. At first I was giving him a hand to steady his aim but it was not long before he was too fast for me and quite good at it ; ) Now we just need to practice more. We are also learning the alphabet together. So far, Max likes the letters "O" and "S" the most : ) He can easily recognize them. He also likes to "read" all the EXIT signs around and any other writing he comes across. And we are playing hide-and-seek with a set of three frogs. It is a lot of fun! Cheers. Max loves his books of Farmyard tales. There is a little duck on each page and he plays a game of finding it. This is probably the first story book that we read together. So far his favorite books have been the picture books. I like to point to a picture in them and give him an equivalent object at the same time. I think he likes it too : )
Max has a better appetite these days. He still insist on a lot of milk but he is also practicing eating with his spoon. He is getting quite good at it. It is fun! And he is working on his talking. There are many distinct sounds that he uses nowadays together with a few gestures. There is a lot to learn and do. Yesterday we went outside in the rain. Met a real truck : ) and counted the bolts. Max figured that puddles are for stomping into and we got wet. He greeted everybody in the street and everybody stopped to say hello back. A nice cheer in a rainy day... Today was day 5 in sleep training. Max now waits until he is totally exhausted and then demands to sleep at all costs. We are all learning to find the right Last night Max mastered the art of sleeping in the bed standing. Then early this morning he practiced doing the same sitting. I wish we have taken the task of teaching him how to sleep seriously earlier.
School was super fun today and there was a book of farmyard tales gifted to Max. : )) Max learned Up and Down today. What amazes me is that he was able to translate the concept 2 times to other movements. He has been extremely good following "hands up" instruction when being undressed but this is different. Max and his Dad were playing. Max was on his back for a change... Legs up in the air and down again : )) Next thing you know he can do it by following the words as they are being said. And when we all went to tell the story to baba, Max applied the concept while he was on his feet - up = stand up, down = squat ; ) Later, I was holding him and decided to test the skill by saying the words - Max started by lifting his legs up and then putting them down and ended up doing the same with his arms ; ) I thought that this is pretty clever ; )
Heck, I don't think there are any pictures from today : ( Max has learned to crawl backwards : )) It is quite cute. Despite his funny forward crawl, he is fast and efficient when he crawls backwards. It all started when we taught him how to get off the bed and the couch. Backwards and pushing with his hands. Now he tries to crawl ba
It's amazing how much Max has learned in the last month! He now walks, runs, drives his bicycles back and forth, gives high-five, waves hello and goodbye, helps with dressing and undressing, brushes his teeth, carries really tiny and really big objects, shares his toys, puts things in the laundry, can ask for water, and to be taken outside, has a hand wave for "where is it?", stacks cubes, put shapes through holes, talks on the phone, dances, loves dancing, draws, sings, blows kisses, understands tons Bulgarian and easily follows instructions, recognizes his way home, claps his hands when he is happy! And I am probably missing on a lot of things : ) What Max has yet to learn is to stay asleep... He naps for 40 minutes during the day and at night he is up every 2 hours. After 4 am, he fails completely, despite the fact that it seems that he does want to sleep. He has to yet fall asleep on his own. We love him very much!!!
I promise to update the site some time soon. I have been working full time for a month now with a lot of things to do and the lack of sleep is getting to me. I am very grateful for my mother helping this last 2 months. She is leaving this Friday. Will I get better organized after that? ; ) * |
