Max is playing with sounds and words. Recent additions include: up, ball and eye. He also knows few songs and can sing along. At the moment his favorite activities are pushing his cars and trucks on all surfaces and angles, parking them, doing obstacles course with them and even hiding them : ) ; feeding his animals very many different meals; and reading books. Max has become quite independent at the playground. He can climb up and down stairs and staired contraptions, he can slide, he can run and what not. He is also beginning to gravitate to other kids and attempting to make friends either by going to them and saying shyly Hi or by offering them his toys in order for them to play together, Unfortunately, the other toddlers are not always understanding. I have to get used to it but it hurts me every single time, I wonder how Max takes it. Max has a very good memory and remembers books, stories, and events and we sometimes able to discuss them. Yesterday he was hit by a girl his age. And she repeated it on a number of occasions. This was a first for Max and he did not know what to do with it. I later tried to teach him to defend himself by being firm and saying No to the abuser. Today we witness a kid screaming from the tops of his lungs at another kid at the Trout Lake playground. The kid that was screamed at was very confused and ended up upset and crying. On our back home Max experimented with soft cries. i wish he does not get the idea that it is ok to sceam.
We got this lovely box yesterday full of hearts - it was very neat! Sheryl, please thank Erica for the art - Max was just learning about shapes in "school" and they were singing this song about Heart and he spent 5 minutes looking at the ones drawn by Erica loudly exclaiming Eh every time he pointed to a new one. I think they were all his favourites : ) And it was such a cool surprise to go through the box itself. The clothes are awesome - I have some of them already in the wash for him to wear. He ate lunch and dinner with the "bear" - this is what Chris calls the animal because it does not have a tail ; ) There were many hugs for it. I named it Bobo : ) The books are very much appreciated by Max as reading is one of his favourite activities. He can recognize just about anything on the pages. And Max and I thoroughly enjoyed the letter-number mat. I wanted to buy one for months now (but you know how we work things - we don't : S ) so it was super cool thing to play with one today. Max knows to find a bunch of letters and can even pronounce O, M, S, B, E, and 3.
We do not deserve it but wanted wholeheartedly to say thank you! Max has been experimenting with words in the last weeks and he is doing not too badly - he can say oatmeal, ali baba, banana, one, two, three : ) But today was the first time he said a word that was "complete" - apple. We made him say it over and over and it sounded cute every single time : ))
Needless to say I am very proud of him! |
