We missed family drop-in group yesterday and Mom took me there this morning. We made it in time for the songs : ) I climbed the stairs to the second floor by myself pretending to hold my Mom's fingers. She likes it ; ) Dad came to meet us and we strolled in the neighborhood.
For some reason [and the reason is that I am teething] I was restless at home. I have been chewing on anything... So Mom took me out again and we went swimming. I am a natural swimmer: I've got all the moves. Mom is teaching me to do it on my own... like climbing out of the pool and jumping in under water.
And tonight I graduated from my baby tub to Mom and Dad's tub. I wonder what is next : )
I spent the day outside playing and meeting people.
First, we were at the Alice Townley Park and I played with the pebbles trying to sneak one or two into my mouth while Mom was not watching : ) I had a racing match with two sisters, Georgia and Alex, on the slide. I was so fast to climb it : ) Big smile on my face and all : ) I did not get the going down part completely but had some fun bumping and tumbling down. We were home in time for some much needed sleep followed by lunch.
Later, we hurried to the baby group meeting to hear about language development... and we met Marlowe and Lou. They came home with us, loudly singing along the way, for some delicious local blueberries. Toni and Eric were waiting were already at the back yard. They brought me a very nice grown-up stroller : ) We all sat and chatted : ) I ate blueberries.
And don't forget, I stood up on my own and without props today for the first time : ) You bet - I am going to be dreaming about it all night!
Today started at 4am in the morning. I really have trouble after midnight. It is not that I do not want to be asleep but somehow I find it hard to settle. Mom's theory is that I have to burp after dreamfeeding... Anyhow, things started a little dark so to speak and Mom decided to do something about it and we took a full advantage of the perfectly sunny and warm summer day.
We spent the morning at Alice Towney Park. I had my second breakfast there. Met Mojo, a 2 month-old puppy, and Lynn, an older lady that sang very beautifully. Then we played in the pebbled playground. It was super cool! Later, we moved to Grandview Park. I watched the other kids play for some time and really enjoyed the swings : )) Mom and Dad stopped at the Babylon Cafe on the way home. I was tired but refused to lay down in the buggy and ended falling asleep folded in two with my hand on the handlebar and my head in my lap. Mom and Dad tried to put me down but I quickly protested because... what do they know about sleep and rest; there is so much to see and do - even with my eyes too heavy to keep open ; ) Eventually, I drifted into sleep deeply enough for them to lay me back. Funny, right.
In the afternoon, we went to Cedar Cottage Park which is next block to us and I hit the swings again and had my first go at the slide. Mom and Dad think I am going to be a climber : ) The only thing I cannot climb into at the moment is the bed. Once there, I spent my time sitting. It is hard to sleep when you are sitting. I'll have to think about that, sitting. Good night!
Forget about the new toys I was going to tell you about. There are so many other things to play with...
I practiced all day standing up and sitting back down - I am getting pretty good at it. And I can use anything around me as a prop : ) At the end of the day, just when I was about to fall asleep. I discovered that I can make a "bridge" with my bum in the air and my head by my toes and look at Mom upside down. Such a cool world! : )) Mom did not think that my new outlook enhances my sleeping chances but was still very proud of me.
We went swimming today at Britannia Community Center pool. Everybody was very impressed by my swimming abilities. I finally started using my legs and arms to move around in the water - or to navigate mom to move me around in the water. It was super cool. Some Chinese ladies and two older gentlemen congratulated me and I waved Hello to them with a smile : ) I am awesome : )) Oh, and I managed to climb out of the pool twice!
I did not eat much though... Maybe I will eat more tomorrow : )
